Its official. Clementine is going to be in the newest People’s Branch production of “Hanging Mary”, an original work by Matthew Carlton. I don’t really know many details yet, but I do know the dates of the shows! March 8th through the 17th at the Belcourt in Hillsboro Village.
She is so excited. I mean, last night she started singing “Clementine Superstar” (to the tune of “Jesus Christ Superstar”, obviously) and kept practicing her bow. I think this might go to her head.

The past few nights I’ve been going to rehearsal for the new Actor’s Bridge production called “Ordinary Heroes”. Its a collaborative project with a group called Amun Ra and its an original work about the Civil Rights Movement in Nashville. So, anyway, I’m running the light board, which is generally a pretty boring task, and the last two nights have just been me sitting around while the lighting designer programs the lights. So, I thought, what better way to pass the time is there then to bring Clementine along with me?? I asked the Stage Manager (who also happens to be our dog sitter) and she said I could bring her. Monday night she was a hit. Everyone just loves her and they wanted me to bring her back last night too. Generally I think she enjoys being there, getting all that attention, and getting to cuddle for a few hours.
So, last night, the producer mentioned that another theatre group in town is looking for a small dog to be in their show for a very short amount of time. Since Clem is small and very friendly, she thought she’d be perfect. I talked to the guy in charge and he’s totally excited about it. I have to send her picture to him, but I’m pretty sure she’s a shoe in. And the show is at the Belcourt, which is so close, and she’s only in it for a few seconds at a time, so I don’t think it would be too stressful or time consuming. Anyway, its exciting. I’ll have to keep you updated.
In other news, this Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday, for those of you who don’t follow football at all. We’re hosting a party at our house and plan to have about 10 or so people there, including one baby. Should be a good time!

When I finished with school, I probably should’ve taken some time to relax a little bit! Now I’m in a play with Actor’s Bridge, playing soccer on Sundays, and still planning for the wedding. All of the above are fun and enjoyable, but I probably should’ve eased back into it.
My play, Metamorphoses, opens next weekend, the 12th, which is Mother’s Day weekend. My mom and brother are coming to see it and are staying with us for a few days. My brother still hasn’t seen our house, and neither of them have met Clementine. Anyway, they are both coming in on Saturday and then Sunday we can do brunch. I made reservations at one place, but I may change my mind to go somewhere closer. Monday we’re going to pick up my dress, which I haven’t seen yet since it arrived. I’m very excited.
The play itself is going really well. I’ve memorized all my lines and am not having dreams about forgetting all of them. We haven’t really seen the set yet or tried on costumes, but I think we get those this week. For those of you who don’t know, the play takes place in and around a pool of water, so we have to have comfortable, yet minimal, costumes. In fact, there is one part of the show where a guy is entirely naked. I’m not sure if my mom knows that yet. Oops. So anyway, if you want to come see it, call head for tickets at 341.0300. It’ll save you $3 to call ahead.
Soccer has been fun so far. We’re 1-1 so far and I have some fun bruises to show for it. Nothing like Jason’s nasty bruise on his NZ trip, but battle scars nonetheless. I’m having a good time. I wish my mom could see me play, but there’s no game on Mother’s Day.
Lastly, wedding stuff is coming along nicely. Today is exactly 4 months away from our wedding! I’ve decided to hand-make our invitations. I’m creating them from scratch, not using a kit, so we’ll see how they come out. I’m working on other details, like the favors, cake, and decorations, and I have a pretty good idea about all of them. The music is hard to put together, but I’ve at least found our recessional song.
