San Francisco Day 4
Today was our last day in San Francisco and I think we’ve covered all the bases. We got up kind of early and walked over to Fillmore Street, which is known best for its night Jazz scene. John Lee Hooker’s “Boom Boom Room” is there, along with a few other well-known clubs and restaurants. We had breakfast at the Grove and then caught the bus to head up to Lombard Street.
As you can see by the pictures below, we found our way to Lombard Street, but not after a hellacious walk uphill from Van Ness. At least we got to walk down the crookedest street in the world, which was quite busy I might add. Then we caught the bus to Chinatown. Unfortunately we passed right through it and into the next neighborhood without realizing it. The “Little Black Book” of San Francisco had Chinatown placed a little further down than it was. Oh well.
We went back to the hotel to get ready for the 49ers game and then caught the gameday express shuttle to Monster Field. The whole ride took about half an hour. We found our seats after grabbing some grilled grub and enjoyed the game from there. We also kept up with the Titan’s game via ESPN.com (Go Titans!)Â and celebrated their win as well. In the 4th quarter, we headed back to the bus and went back into town. After a quick stop at Union Square, we bussed back to Japantown for dinner and here we are!
For four days in San Fran, I think we did pretty well. We leave for Long Beach early tomorrow morning. I doubt I’ll blog as often there, so I’ll take this opportunity to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
