The strangest thing has started happening with my WordPress comments. I usually receive an email as soon as a comment is posted, but now it takes hours, sometimes days, before the email gets to me. Any idea why?

It’s probably because your web hosting company is bogged down with email. (Maybe they’re under a spam attack?) It will hopefully clear up soon. You could always file a complaint with them, though they will probably ignore you since email isn’t meant to be instantaneous.
Sometimes, big email providers (Hotmail/Yahoo/etc) take a while to process email. I’m not sure where your email is actually hosted, but this is another possibility.

Now see, that one only took 12 minutes to alert me. Maybe it has “cleared up” as you said it might.
