Where’s my 31 mpg???
Okay, so I know those EPA estimates are just that, estimates, but 31 vs. 21??? I am down to the end of my first tank and I’ve only gone 220 miles. With a 10 gallon tank, that’s, what, 22 miles per gallon? That’s almost what my Pontiac was getting. I know I may be a little heavy on the gas peddle, but does it really change it that much?!?!?!? I’m sad! :(

Hey, I don’t know if this is a load of crap, but the salesguy told me when I bought my Civic that it might take up to a year to get the EPA’s estimated miles per gallon. Something about the car has to learn how you drive and adapt to it. I know I wasn’t too impressed with my first tank of gas, but on the last tank (my third, I think) I got 37 mpg, and that was about 60% highway driving, 40% city.

Really? REALLY? That would make my day. Thanks so much for posting this. I’m sure there’s something that says the first few tanks are not the best indicator of the car’s overall gas efficiency. Until I see it, though, I’m going to be a little skeptical. But thank you still. :)
