So the wedding is 4 days away and things seem to be coming into place. My mom comes in tonight and she’s staying with us till Thursday. I still have to work tomorrow so I’ll try to make a list of things for her to do! My bridesmaid from CA comes in tomorrow and then the one from NC comes in Thursday, just in time for the bachelorette party. The last one comes in early Friday morning.
Weather looks like it will be tolerable, currently no rain is being predicted, but that may change, as always. Good thing it has cooled down a bit though. I have a small “to do” list, but they are things I can knock out pretty quickly, or things I can hand over to someone else and I’m fine with delegating.
Jason and I cleaned the house last night, and I mean cleaned. Mopped floors, shampooed carpets, emptied a bunch of trash. I even mowed our lawn that had 2 foot weeds springing up out of it. I have a few bug bites to show for it too. I *finally* cleaned out my car after many months of not having done so. It feels good to finally take care of that after saying I would for so long.

Wow, we’re really closing in on the wedding day and it all seems a bit surreal. I had my hair trial this past weekend and it was excellent. The girl who is going my hair took her time to get it right and I’m so confident in her abilities for the wedding day. She also did my make-up and it was perfect.
My maid-of-honor was supposed to meet me there, but she never showed up. We’ve gone a few days without talking before, but she didn’t answer her phone, her emails, etc. On Wednesday she emailed to tell me she’d been in a car accident!! She’s okay, but her car is totalled. If someone had been in the passenger side, they probably would’ve been impailed by the door frame and, at the very least, would’ve suffered horrible injuries. I still don’t know the details of the accident, but it sounds like her insurance is taking care of things, even providing a car for 30 days for free.
I don’t know what I would’ve done if she’d gotten seriously hurt. Especially right now. I don’t even want to think about it.

Well, I haven’t had anymore nightmares, so that’s good. We have quite a few small things to do before the wedding, but we really are on track. Two Sundays ago I had a shower at Lyndi’s aunt’s apartment in Green Hills and it was really nice. I’ve met Pam many times before so it was nice to see her and it was very generous of her to have us in her home. Lyndi did a great job putting things together. The decorations were really cute and the games were a lot of fun. They were just silly bridal games, but I think people got into them.
Again, I was amazed at the generosity of my friends and soon-to-be family. Jason’s mom and sister were there and they were a lot of fun. It was nice of them to drive down from C-ville for the party.
Last Saturday we had our final shower at our house. No, we didn’t throw a shower for ourselves, it was hosted by my maid-of-honor. She prepared the most amazing Irish menu you could possibly ask for. Soda bread, fondue, phyllo cups, 3 desserts and Irish drinks to boot! It was amazing. The turn out was pretty small, but we got to spend some quality time with close friends.
Sunday Jason’s parents came down and we ordered the tuxes for the guys and got juice for the cocktails. Jason and I are in the middle of designing the cocktail menus, so that’s fun. I have a few other display items to put together still.
This weekend I go for my hair trial and I’m so excited! We’ll do a full trial run of my hair and makeup for the wedding. I can’t wait. Then I meet with my wedding coordinator to go over the days events, etc. Sunday I have a work pool party, which seems kinda weird, but I’m going to go for a little bit. Its not with my normal work group, but some other people I worked with on a certain techie project. It was nice of them to invite me. Sunday night, Jason and I are going to see a Sounds game in a skybox with the rest of my office. Our manager arranged this for us when we reached a certain number of electronic prescriptions. That’s a bad explanation, but I’m too lazy to go into it now!
More later!
