So I made it back to Nashville safely and am already back to work. Jason is taking the whole week off…I can’t decide if he’s lucky or lazy.
Surprisingly, I’m getting a lot done, considering everyone in my office is either sick or on vacation. It makes it very tempting to just go home and spend time with Jason and the dogs.
The rest of my vacation was nice. Christmas was pretty uneventful and we saw a few more movies: King Kong, Rumor has it, and Good Night & Good Luck. I didn’t know anything about the last one, except that George Clooney, who my mother loves, directed and produced it, and had a leading role. King Kong was very good, even if it is weird to think about love between a giant gorilla and a woman. Rumor Has It was ‘cute’, Kevin Costner was very charming, and Jennifer Aniston cried a lot. My mom thinks that’s her “I don’t need Brad” movie, but to me, it seemed like an awful lot of crying and begging to be a ‘come-back’ movie. Oh well.
This weekend for New Years we’re going to a co-worker’s/friend’s house for food, drinks, and games. First we’re going up to Clarksville to have my Christmas with Jason’s family. It got a little delayed this year, but close enough.
Happy New Year!

So right after I saved my last post, we saw Cameron Diaz in Barnes and Noble in Long Beach. I guess she is from Long Beach, so that makes sense, but it was totally cool. No one was bothering her and it looked like she was shopping with her little niece. So cute.
Anyway, we did a little last minute shopping yesterday and I got to meet up with Meredith for a bit in the afternoon. She showed me pictures of her brother’s wedding and we talked forever about mine! Its always fun to talk about it.
Last night we rented “The Island”, which is a pretty good sci-fi thriller about clones who escape from their harvesting home and try to find their “sponsors”. It was an interesting concept and I just love Ewan McGregor…and he played two parts, so who doesn’t love that.
Today, I got up at 6:30am, cause its really weird to be sleeping in my little twin bed all alone. I haven’t slept very well since I got home. Mom is doing a little more shopping today and then we’ll go for our traditional Christmas dinner at the Fish Co. My mom loves the place and its not very busy on Christmas Eve, so we go. Tomorrow morning after opening presents we’ll head up to a friends house for eggs benedict and just good company. I’m sure we’ll see at least two more movies before I head home on Tuesday. I’ll be sure to keep you posted, since I know that’s all you want to do on your Christmas weekend, read my blog. Yea. Well, Merry Christmas!

Well, I’ve made it home to California for the holidays. Yesterday was quite a mess getting here from Nashville…they had changed my flights in October and apparently they don’t call anymore to let you know. They say they sent an email, but I never got it. They had my last name spelled wrong in the email. Nice.
Anyway, I’m here, in Barnes & Noble, doing a little last minute shopping while my brother frantically starts his Christmas shopping. And I thought I was a procrastinator.
Mom’s new cat is cute. Much bigger than I thought he would be already. This is the first Christmas without Amadaus, my cat since childhood. Its kinda weird…cause he would sleep with me and all. Jagger is sweet, but still very playful with sharp claws. He actually came into my room last night and jumped up on my bed, but didn’t stay for long.
Last night, mom, bro, and I saw “The Family Stone”. It has much more in the story than you see in the previews and is pretty unrealistic. It was good to see Claire Danes in a movie again, she really is so pretty. Anyway, the movie was funny at times, but it was way more serious than I thought it would be.
Okay, I’m going to do a little more browsing. Merery Christmas to everyone and I hope to see you in the New Year!

I met with Derek last night and he’s definitely our guy. His packages are a great deal, his photos are amazing (I was laughing out loud at some of them), and he seems like an overall cool guy. Plus, Jason likes the website, so that helps.
Yea! One more thing out of the way!

So its no big news, but its frickin cold today! We’ve been starting the days off in the teens (I get up around 6 – or at least try to) and only getting up to 40 max. But its nothing compared to some of the middle states. I saw one place that is -24 degrees. NEGATIVE TWENTY-FOUR DEGREES!!! That’s insane. We thought it was going to be a mild winter, now I’m not so sure.
I hope for our gas bill’s sake that it is a mild winter. I don’t even want to know how much our next bill is going to be. Last month wasn’t bad, but we’ve HAD to use the heat more this month. And we’ve been very conservative, usually keeping it below 65 degrees. Colder than that at night. Anyway…you get the idea…its COLD!!

So the box arrived from Amazon today…actually just about 20 minutes ago. Isn’t that a little late for UPS? I guess I shouldn’t complain. It used to be that they would try to deliver three times while I was at work or school and I’d have to go pick it up! Now at least they come when I’m home.
Anyway, I’m about 50% finished with shopping. I still have to get stuff for my brother, mom and Jason’s mom and dad. So…I guess I’m really only about 25% done. Great.

Since all the cool kids are doing it, I’ve switched my blog to Wordpress, an RSS blog, which means you can track my posts by subscribing to my blog. Do it, you know you want to. So far, I’m a little frustrated, but that’s to be expected. I haven’t been able to format it to look like my old blog, so this will have to do for now. I thought I could get my old Greymatter posts to pull over, but I just couldn’t get it to work.
This RSS thing is cool. I’ve been trying to set it up for a while, but just didn’t know it could be this easy. See…things are already getting better…just two sentences ago I said I was frustrated. Now I’m saying its easy. I’m very forgiving.
I wonder if my Amazon package is arriving today. Christmas presents!
And a little something for me. Ooo…Its out for delivery today! I better go home and get it before Jason gets there!
